About Me

I earned my Ph.D. in clinical social work at the Institute for Clinical Social Work where I completed a clinical education program focusing on psychotherapy with adults, couples, and families. I completed my dissertation which explored how in vitro fertilization impacted the shared relationship between adult daughter and mother.
I developed a strong interest and clinical expertise in working with individuals and couples who have reproductive and infertility struggles. I furthered my education and clinical training by becoming an AASECT (American Association for Sexuality Educators and Sexuality Therapists) Sex Therapist given my strong clinical interest in working with persons who suffer from sexual dissatisfaction and sexual dysfunction. Given my focus on these areas, I have expanded my practice to working with persons who experience challenges during the perinatal and postpartum times of pregnancy.

I have my Master of Social Work (MSW) at Loyola of Chicago’s School of Social Work. I trained in the Outpatient Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where I worked with multidisciplinary teams of social workers, psychologists, and psychiatrists.

After receiving my MSW and clinical license, I worked as an IL-certified school social worker and eventually began my own private practice.

Before becoming a social worker, I practiced as a music therapist. I received my Bachelor of Music in Therapy (BMT) at Loyola of New Orleans’ College of Music. I worked as a music and art therapist in inpatient and outpatient settings as well as residential settings. Within these facilities, I worked with children, adolescents, and adults suffering from chronic mental illness, eating disorders, sexual traumas, and addiction.
